This dataset contains all captured polygon representations of hydrographic features created by the Government of Alberta for their 20K Base Features Database. In specific instances, the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo has modified or added to this dataset to reflect the current state of the surface water in an area within the RMWB.</SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN /><SPAN>Hydrography Polygon Attribute Feature Types:</SPAN></P><UL><LI><P><SPAN>Surface water feature types: perennial lake, recurring lake (intermittent), major river, perennial island lake, recurring lake island (intermittent), river island, perennial oxbow, recurring oxbow (intermittent), wetland, lagoon, major canal, dugout, quarry, reservoir, and lake/river sandbars.</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>Sandbar categorization types: The presence of a sandbar is indicated under the sbflag field and is designated by the letter Y. The occurrence of the letter R in the sbflag field identifies features that were modified or added to the hydrography polygons by the RMWB.</SPAN></P></LI></UL><P><SPAN><SPAN>Please consult with the RMWB GIS Group for distribution information, further metadata details, and the appropriate GOA contact information.
